Save Harrow Town Centre Post Office

The closure of the Post Office in TG Jones, St Ann’s Shopping Centre next year, is a serious blow to local residents, businesses and visitors who rely on accessible Post Office services.

Harrow is a growing community, yet the town centre has also seen a number of bank branches close in recent years. This makes it more important than ever that residents have access to essential face-to-face postal, banking and other services locally.

Post Office Ltd has confirmed that it will advertise the opportunity for a business to run a Post Office branch in central Harrow. We welcome this step and hope a suitable business comes forward quickly.

But we need a clear commitment from Post Office Ltd that securing a Post Office in the town centre is a priority.

We are calling on Post Office Ltd to:

• Recognise the critical need for a Post Office in central Harrow, given the area’s growing population and the loss of local bank branches.
• Make securing a replacement Post Office in central Harrow an urgent priority.
• Work proactively to identify and support a suitable new operator.
• Provide a clear timetable for securing a new branch and keeping residents informed.
• Meet with Gareth Thomas MP and local residents to discuss the future of Post Office services in central Harrow.
