Boris Johnson has resigned as Foreign Secretary over the recent Chequers agreement and how the Government is dealing with the Brexit negotiations.
His resignation comes within 24 hours of his fellow Brexiteer, David Davis, resigning from the Government and plunging Theresa May further in the crisis.
Gareth responded to this Government meltdown saying:
“Boris’ resignation is further confirmation that the Cabinet’s fragile truce has been broken, with the Brexit extremists sabotaging May’s plan and any hope of Brexit progress. With such toxic extremism guiding Brexit, having the option to stay is now more important than ever.”
