Dear Seb,
RE: Celebrating 100 Years of West Harrow Park
This year marks the 100th anniversary of West Harrow Recreation Ground, a cherished green space that remains one of Harrow’s busiest and most beloved parks. Just over a decade older, West Harrow Tube Station has played a vital role in connecting thousands of passengers to this park over the past century. As we celebrate this milestone, I hope Transport for London can join us in recognising the park’s legacy and its importance to the local community.
A little over ten years ago, it was fantastic to bring together artwork from Nower Hill High School into North Harrow Station, creating a lasting connection between public transport and our local community. In a similar spirit, I would love to commemorate West Harrow Park’s centenary by displaying photography and artwork of the park from local residents – leading from under the bridge into West Harrow Station. This would be a wonderful way to honour the park’s history, ensuring it will be permanently on display and celebrated by local residents and visitors alike for years to come.
I and many other local residents would really appreciate any support TfL can provide to help make this happen. Please let me know if there are steps we can take together to bring this vision to life.
Yours sincerely,
Gareth Thomas MP
